John Wolff
Founder & CEO
IT recruiting is broken. Generic job boards. Bloated markups. Candidates treated like résumés instead of people. I built Staffing Science to fix that.
I’m John — Founder & CEO of a Scottsdale-based IT staffing firm specializing in direct-hire, contract, and contract-to-hire across the full IT spectrum: Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, AI & Machine Learning, Product, Cloud/Data, IT Leadership, and Executive/Retained Search. Before going independent, I spent 9 years at VincentBenjamin earning 9x Presidents Club and breaking every placement record they had.
We work with high-growth startups and established tech orgs who need more than a résumé blast — companies that care about culture fit, team dynamics, and the stuff a job description can’t capture. That’s the whole idea behind our motto: “Leave the chemistry to us.”
When I’m not deep in a search, you’ll find me with my two dogs, hitting the gym, hiking the desert, nerding out on gadgets, or cheering on the ASU Sun Devils.

Erin Nickel
Co-Founder & Managing Partner
Erin grew up in a small town on the Northern California coast and moved to Phoenix in 2000, where she first joined the recruiting world. Her experience ranges from working with start-ups to Fortune 500 companies in all areas of information technology. Erin is passionate about building relationships and finding the right fit for candidates and clients.
Although she now resides in the PNW, Erin has stayed close to the Phoenix market and business trends. When she isn’t working, she is spending time with her family, including her fur kids Zeus and Gracie, and trying to convince her husband that two dogs simply aren’t enough.

Kevin Volk
Co-Founder & Managing Partner
Kevin is an Arizona native with 10+ years of IT staffing and sales experience. He has worked in environments ranging from late-stage startups to enterprise SaaS. Kevin’s passion for identifying meaningful work for people has enabled him to place hundreds of IT employees across the U.S. successfully.
Kevin a self-described film buff with a love of 80’s B movies, cooking, and the great outdoors. He spends his free time with his wife, Stephanie, their two sons and their dog Finn!

Andrew Whiteside
Relationship Manager
Andrew is an Arizona native who received a degree in
engineering from the University of Arizona. Although his abilities in
engineering helped him win a hackathon, he quickly realized coding wasn’t for
him. Andrew found a different way to stay in the tech world when he was
recruited into the staffing industry. He has since been a technical recruiter
with over five years of experience.
Andrew is passionate about helping people
discover jobs that fulfill them in every aspect. Andrew loves the outdoors,
live music, traveling, and spending time with his family and his dog Pippy!

When not working you can find him spending time with his wife and 2 girls Charlie and Georgia, on the golf course, or playing with his German Shorthaired Pointer named Bogey. Jon is an avid sports fan supporting his favorite New England sports teams especially his alma mater UConn.
